Pilgrimage Tour to the Church of Saint Nektarius of Aegina
Half Day Trip (2 hours; maximum 3 people)
Orientation tour to the magnificent cathedral dedicated to the healing Greek Orthodox saint, Nektarius
Saint Nektarius is a well loved saint, accredited with performing many miracles. Hear his story, his miracles and all about his life's work.
You'll see the magnificent Cathedral built in his honour, as well as the church of the Holy Trinity that he lovingly restored. Learn why people come from all over the world to pay homage to him and to ask him to heal them and their loved ones.
ITINERARY
You'll experience the beautiful frescoes and mosaics in the church of Saint Nektarius - which is the largest orthodox church in the Balkans while learning about rituals and religious practises.
Then we'll walk up the paved path to the church of the Holy Trinity and find out why Saint Nektarius chose to restore it.
You'll have the option of visiting the Byzantine town of Paliachora and the 400 year old church of Chrysoleontissa too.
A lunch stop is also optional before returning to our starting point.

The basic tour will take approximately two hours. I will be happy to include a visits to Paliachora - a Byzantine site with 37 Byzantine churches and the 400 year old convent of Chrysoleontissa, dedicated to mother Mary. Both places Saint Nektarius loved to visit

There are no entry fees to any of these churches or sites but you might like to leave an amount in the collection box.
Lunch is not included in this tour but, if you'd like to finish the tour off at a taverna it is optional
Souvenirs, snacks, drinks are not included
